So, since I was last on this blog, a lot has happened. We moved into a new home in Southeast Aurora. We've been here for 11 months. Dave is working for Premiere Heating and Air and he is their lead man/ manager. I just quit working at the Skilled Nursing Home and on Monday bein my new job in Home Health in the Boulder area !!! Harper is growing up way too fast and is into everything. His nanny is from Afghanistan, so Harper is speaking a lot of Farsee as well as English. He is almost completely potty trained at 18 months. We just had some family portraits taken a few weeks ao in downtown Denver and they turned out AMAZING. She took 700 pictures in 50 minutes. So many to choose from but here are a couple we bought the rights to.

So Harper went for his two month check-up and received his first round of shots. I actually didn't cry this time, and he began smiling shortly after. He is now weighing 11 pounds and 7 ounces, and is 23 inches long.... He is getting so big so fast! He is cooing all the time now and loves to play peek-a-boo in the mornings. I started last week working out and squatting Harper, it's a funny sight! We are leaving for MS tomorrow for Beth Ray's wedding and to introduce Harper to the rest of the family! I am nervous about the takin him on the plane, we are going to be that couple that no one wants to sit near because they have a screaming baby.... I am already expecting to get some ugly looks once the plane lands :) I'll post pics of Harper in his suit and meeting the family

Harper West Update

So, Harper has had some tummy issues lately that has caused many sleepless nights. He has been constipated after I started supplementing one bottle of soy formula at night.... It took me a couple of weeks to figure out what was making him constipated. The Dr. told me to give him a suppository... well that was unpleasant to say the least. Now we are working on a sleep schedule.. wish us luck!!

Also, I found a new job doing contract work at a hospital! I can choose my own hours and days to work...Yay FLEXIBILITY!!!!

Harper West Gatlin

Well, I was admitted into the hospital at 9 pm on Tuesday, January 27th for an induction. After 5 hours of labor, contractions occuring every two minutes without any drugs, the Dr broke my water. Harper became intolerable of the contractions and his heart rate began to drop. They placed me on oxygen and monitered Harper internally. He was still unstable so they decided to do a C-section. Harper was born on Wednesday morning at 5:53 am. He weighed 8.5 lbs and is 21 inches long..... A BIG BOY!!!! He had a heart murmur, but as of Friday, it has disappeared! Thank GOD!!!! He is healthy and strong! He looks just like his daddy. There is no resembelance of me except his length.... We are truly blessed and could not ask for more!!! Harper has his first appointment with his pediatrician on Monday morning, so we are looking forward to that....

The Latest on Harper Gatlin

Well, I just finished my 38 week check up. Harper has dropped but I still haven't dialated. The Dr. was worried that the baby was underweight because the measurement of my belly hadn't changed, and I have been sick with a GI bug and have been dehydrated. Long story short, the doctor wanted to take another ultrasound to check on th eamniotic fluid and the baby's weight. The amniotic fluid was low but not dangerously low, so I was told to drink lots of fluids. Harper's weight at 38 weeks is 7 lbs 10 oz. The doctor was shocked that he was so big already so she decided to move up my inducement date from Feb 3 to January 27th so that I wouldn't give birth to an 11 lb baby (Davey). So far everything is looking great! I am feeling better and will be back to work on Monday. Dave took the day off and took care of me on Wednesday... He may be the best babysitter ever!! I'm lucky to have him!!

Pictures from the baby Shower. It turned out well and we got tons of gift cards like we asked for, now I've just got to get Dave excited about going shopping for the things we need. We have another Dr's appointment tomorrow. O yeah and my feet and ankles have began to swell for the first time, I now have cankles!

34 Week Check-up

Well I was concerned about Baby Gatlin's movements lately so I brought it up today at my doctors appointment. He hasn't been moving as much lately, so they hooked me up to a fetal monitor for 20 minutes and observed his heart rate and movements. They were a little concerned about the results because his heart rate had dropped to 12o a couple of times during the 20 minutes. They then decided to do an ultrasound to check on my amniotic fluid and see his movements. Long story short..... Baby Gatlin is right on track and doing great.... Seems that there are no worries and we are good to fly home tomorrow. He is weighing 5lbs 10 oz this week.... I can't wait till he arrives! I know the airport is going to be chaotic tomorrow so I went ahead and bout a velour jogging suit for the flight so that I would be comfortable. Dave thinks my suit is so funny because it reminds him of a Seinfeld episode or something... Imagine that! Anyways, I can't wait to see everyone for Christmas!!

Lansdowne Arms

Well, Dave played for the first time in Colorado last night, and he was a big hit! I invited a few friends from work and they all raved about how soothing Dave's voice is. Two guys heard him play and asked him to join them at a bar on New Year's Eve. They will be opening for a band that night. This one guy Danny consistently praised Dave all night long on his talent to sing and play the guitar. They literally spent 3 hours talking about music after Dave finished playing. I think it did Dave a lot of good to have someone really understand his music and talent. Dave grinned all night long and kept buying the guy drinks. I'm pretty sure Dave has a really big ego now... which he actually needs!! So we made some new friends and some new connections last night... I actually was awake until midnight with him... I give myself props for that! I am usually in the bed by 9:30. All it took last night was 2 cokes and Dave's voice to keep me alive!

The Nursery

So, we have yet to start on the nursery. We did however buy the crib, which won't be in for 2 weeks and we bought the bedding, matress, matress cover, and a picture. Dave and I left Babies-R-US with a stroller, car seat, and matress, However, I paid for all three plus the matress pad and picture, but walked out the door leaving behind the small two items on the counter. We failed to realize that I left 50 dollars worth of paid items until it was 2 hours later, we were at home, and the store was closed.... Pregnancy minds are so forgetful. God bless the people who work at maternity and baby stores because they are dealing with some forgetful and moody women.
